I'm rewiring an equipment trailer and I'm at the end.
Do all pins have 12+volts?
All my lights work and so do elec. brakes. When testing elec. brakes by squeezing the tabs on dash I feel it working.
So, am I hooked up correctly since F150 recognizes brakes/gain settings and they do engage?
My main concern was they are getting volts but not enough to cause full lock up at setting 10.
I remember a trailer years ago that when empty and on max would lock up the tires.
Thanks
Ignore my trashy porch...spring cleaning.

I'm assuming you have an integrated brake controller? If so, it's propotional and may not lock the brakes up like you're testing it.

Also, how heavy is the trailer and how good are the brakes?

Do the trailer's brakes lock up behind another truck? Do they seem to work adequately when loaded behind your truck? They might need adjusting or new shoes or magnet.

Yes it's factory controller on an F150. I can adjust gain from 1-10. The truck does recognize the trailer and gain adjusts.
Trailer is empty and 1560lbs

Haven't tried another truck.
They definitely assist when braking. I can see a bar graph on dash that shows percentage as I brake lighter/harder

I needed a trailer to haul a mini excavator I bought. I ended up buying two trailers.lol
A large company out of Charlotte had these special ordered back in 88 & 89.
They are Hudson 3 ton single axle tilt trailers with steel deck. 6x12 deck and total length 17'+/-.
I just repainted them, new decals, new tires etc.
One will be for sale soon. I just need to do the wheel bearings on both for a fresh start.
I've been looking for info. on these and it seems most are wood deck and only 2.5 tons.
