40” tire recommendations

might be a long shot...

I have a friend with a 2500 Dodge on 40’s looking for a new set of tires. It’s a weekend DD and occasional tow vehicle.

Anyone have any experience with a specific tire?

Currently running 40R13.5-17 gladiators
 
A local shop that builds heavy one ton 4wd vans uses a lot of large diameter Toyo AT and MT on their builds with good success.
Local tire shop praises Maxxis Razr as well in 40" size.
 
I’m probably going to put the 40” maxxis razrs on my Toyota build in a month or so. For my application I wanted a decent MT radial that can be aired down and wheeled a bit while not being afraid to pull cable.
 
I ran a set of toyo mt for around 3 years on a 02 f 250 crew cab long bed and had really good millage out of them
