From the research I've done, 1976-2000 Chevy/GMC dually wheels/tires are a direct bolt on to my C30. If anyone has some or knows of any for sale, please let me know. Even if you think you've seen some at a junkyard in decent condition. I'm not after pretty, I'm just trying to get rid of the split wheels. I'd prefer aluminum to drop ~150-200#, but I'm not against steel.

    Thanks,

Bump...found 2 wheels in the Asheville area. Anybody got 4 more or a lead on some?

I'm sure I have some but they may all be 16.5s. I'm also in Asheville. I'll look when I go to my dads and see if I have some 16's. I know I have some 16" ford 8 on 6.5 dually wheels. I'm not sure what the measurement difference is.

I'm no wheel expert, but the interwebs say the hub diameter is different on Fords & Dodges and since Chevy/GMC use hubcentric wheels the increased diameter will cause vibrations and the possibility of the wheel falling off. Not something I want to happen in a 50 year old 6,500 pound truck!

I'm not seeing too many stock height tire options for 16.5 wheels (maybe I'm not looking in the right spot?), so I'd like to stick with 16s or 17s.

If you've got 4 for a Chevy/GMC, I can make one trip to Asheville & grab all 6! Let me know...

I just remembered I do have an 83 gmc dually I'm going to part out and I'm pretty sure it has 16s. I'll double check tomorrow or Thursday.

That would be great! I'm guessing they're steel? Do they have tires? If so, do they have good tread and no dry rot?

They're steel. They have tires but I'm gonna go ahead and say they're probably rotten. It's been sitting for a few years. I may be able to dig up some tires though. I'll have to see what all is laying around. My dad passed away unexpectedly in March. He left me with 10 acres of tractors, equipment, and trucks so I'm going through it a little at a time. There's over 20 farm tractors alone.

Are you parting out the rear axle too? If so, got any pics of it? Any info (spring pad width, WMS, gear ratio, etc) on it would be appreciated too! Feel free to send prices as well.

Yes I'm parting out the whole truck. It's an 83 GMC C30 cab and chassis. 350 with sm465 4 speed. Rear end is a 14 bolt 4.10 gear open. I'm not sure on the perch width or wms width. It's a cab and chassis axle so you may be able to find it on google. I can go back by there tomorrow or Friday and measure it. Can you call me tomorrow? 828-691-5196.
