Just bought a 2006 6 speed tranny with 44,000 miles on it to replace my slipping 97 3 speed auto. Never done an auto to manual swap so I'll take any advise you guys can give me i.e. parts list, etc. I am wondering what all will work from an 5 speed manual tranny? Will the shifter handle, and drive shaft from a manual TJ work on the 06 6 speed? I'll take any advise.

Thanks

i thank the 6speed is longer than the 3 speed auto
so you may need a SYE if you do not have one

Gonna need a clutch pedal and master cylinder and the brake pedal from a manual truck (or just cut the auto pedal down like I did)

So far I have found the following list for the 32rh to the NSG370 swap:
***************************************************
tranny 2005-2006 TJ
clutch & pressure plate kit 2005-2006
Crankshaft position sensor 2005-2006
CPS pigtail 2005-2006 manual TJ
flywheel 1997 TJ
clutch pedal set up
slave cyl/ master cyl
shifter handle what year/ what trannys will work????
6 speed shifter knob
shifter boot
manual TJ drive shaft
manual TJ transmission mount

***************************************************

Update... I got really lucky my '06 6 speed tranny came in today and it had a CPS, CPS pigtail, shifter handle, clutch fork and slave cylinder still attached.

Let me look in the shop. I may have a stock 6 speed knob you can have. Just pay the shipping on it.

BTW the wife has been wanting to do this swap on her 04 auto rubi... So I am interested in how this turns out for you.

ok that sounds great about the shifter knob. I'll keep my progress posted on here, from what i understand its not too hard of a swap. Now that I have my tranny im just waiting on taxes to come in so i can purchase the rest of the goodies an start putting her in there. I'm excited to get that granny low gear that the six speed has. I have 3.07's so the lower gearing will be a welcome change. I'll eventually get me a 3.73 or 4.11 front and rear end and my TJ will be just about like i want it.
