FREE SHIFTERS WITH STRONG BOX ORDERS UNTIL JAN 1, 2014!!
STRONG BOX KITS: At this time, we have kits for full size Ford transmissions, full size Chevy transmissions, and Ranger/Explorer transmissions; using BW1356, BW1354, NP271, and NP231/241 planetary gears, including their electric shift versions. Jeep kits are also available using the NP231/241 planetary gears.
Our ultimate goal is to offer kits that will work with the planetary gears that are readily available to you; saving you time and money otherwise spent looking for that one manual shift case that might work with other kits.

STRONG BOX FEATURES: •~2.4:1 - ~2.7:1 Low range multiplier (ratio varies slightly depending on which planetary set you use as a donor)
•Low profile design minimizes / eliminates fitment issues with floorboards, exhaust, front driveshaft, shifters, etc...
•72 position, 360º clockability in 5º increments
•New 4340 chromo output shaft thru hardened
•6061 billet aluminum housings precision machined
•Fill plug, drain plug, vent, and particle magnet
•Cable shifter available
•Easy installation: No machining, or welding required
•Adjustable shift detent pressure
•Clocking options for shift mechanism
All of our Strong Box kits use durable planetary gears with 2.4:1 - 2.7:1 low range gearing. We can use planetary gears from electric shift transfer cases that you otherwise may be throwing in the junk pile.
These kits are designed to be compatable with many different transfer cases, including the NP 205 transfer case, and allow use of the original NP 205 shift rails with little to no modification, even with most "twin stick" conversions.

The Strong Box is 7.95" diameter, and will range from 7" long to 8.25" long, depending on the choice of planetary gears used.
If you ever need to clock the trasfer case in a different position, you remove 6 bolts, rotate the transfer case to the desired alignment, replace 6 bolts. No need to drain, or scrape RTV, due to it's completely sealed design.

What transfer cases can be bolted to the back of the Strong Box?

We have versions that are compatable with the following:
•Any 6 bolt pattern transfer case.
Figure 8 NP205 (with the proper input shaft; we have several available)
5 bolt pattern mini-truck (S-10, Ranger, Explorer)

A divorced version of the Strong Box will be available soon!

We are working on a NP203 version, but right now we have kits for several different planetary transfer cases.

And what applications do these fit? Just for trucks or do you build the 231 doubler for Jeeps, etc.

Bump for a great vendor

from your website

* When mounting the Strong Box to your Ford transmission 4x4 adapter, 4 bolt holes will line up perfectly, but the top 2 will be 1/4" off center. We have detailed instructions and a template for drilling out the 2 holes.

Whats up with that? sounds like an PITA.

That was with our old chop and weld version. We now only make the 6061 billet aluminum housings, and installation is a breeze.

The front section of the housing bolts to the transmission, and houses the planetary gears, fill, drain, and vent tube nipple.
The rear section of the housing contains the planetary's shifter hub, shift mechanism, 4340 output shaft, and output shaft bearing. The symmetrical bolt pattern that joins the front section and rear section allows you to clock the position of the shifter without changing how the front section is positioned.
The clocking adapter bolts to the front of your transfer case, and then to the rear of the Strong Box housing. There are 72 different positions that the clocking flange will bolt to the Strong Box housing. This allows you 5 degree increments to adjust your front output placement. If you are using a NP205 behind the Strong Box, your clocking adapter will have a notch for the shift rail that will delete 2 of the 36 holes. This means that with a NP205, you will have a few of the 72 positions that you will only be able to get 5 of the 6 bolts in.

Free mounting kits with Strong Box purchase, for a limited time only.

We have a small batch of shafts coming back from heat treat this week, and material for several more coming in next week.

My doubler is still doing great I beat on it pretty hard in harlan. I broke a 35spline locking hub, wore out some c bushings
I was only denied on a couple obstacles that I tried and I don't believe at any time it was lack of torque or ratio options.
I still feel that the strongbox completely changed the personality of my old truck it is much more versatile now with so many ratios available to me .thanks jacob and Behemoth drivetrain

Heres a look inside the NV271 Strong Box DIY kit.
NP231 is nearly identical except for the input bearing.

Here's a look at the BW1356/205 Strong Box DIY kit. You can also run other 31 spline 6 bolt cases behind it also. (1345, 1356, 208, 271, 440*)

130824_002.jpg130824_003.jpg

All of our Strong Boxes with the notch in the clocking adapter (as pictured) are compatable with stock shifting NP205s, as well as twin sticked NP205s.

I changed the text back from yellow so I could read what it said. :flipoff2:

We're down to our last few shafts that are ready to go, they are 231-241/Ford 205.
We are splining another batch, so let us know what you are going to need.
Half down gets you started, and we have not increased the price yet.

We are working on a NP208 doubler, it will be about a year from now before they are available.
The 10 spline 205 would need to be converted to a 31 spline, with our conversion bearing and a 31 spline ford 205 input. This not only saves you about 4 inches in length, but also gives you a stronger shaft and stronger splines. We make a version of the Strong Box that will bolt directly to the figure 8, and with the 31 spline input installed, you are ready for a Strong Box.

We will also be giving a free single stick shifter with each kit ordered from now until Jan 1, 2014. Boots are an additional $20. Here's a pic of the twin shifter, I'll get a better pic for the single in a few days.

Here's a video showing the assembly of our BW1356 kit. Our other kits are basically the same process, but most ring gears have to be pressed in.

Thanks to Jason Finstad!

I had ask if one could be done with chevy np208 planatarys and a 10 spline 205 behind it.

Buckeye Performance Inc.

Change in plans We are going to go ahead And work on a 208 strong box.

We would still be 3 months away From shipping you But I had lots of requests for the 208 version.

Bump.
By the way I just built one using BW4405 gears, almost exactly the same as the BW1354 kit, except the input bearing is larger.

To place an order, send us a PM of what you want, and we will email an itemized invoice that you can pay either through Paypal, or your Credit Card Company.

Check out the new Dana 300 kit.

Pictured is the Strong Box Shorty kit.
It uses the NP241 gears, its 5.25" long, and very clockable/flippable.
It replaces the input shaft of the Dana 300.
We can do the same thing with other planetary sets as well; RBV (4.5" long) and Full size Ford (6.5") long.
