1. I can go all out and build a tube bed for the rear.......advantages=can beat the hell out of it, can beat the hell out of it, will provide some protection in a flop/roll, and oh yeah, i can beat the hell out of it. Disadvantages=Ugly, taco is still the full-time dd, and will be for another 1.5-2 years. Costs money.....money Im using to finish gearing axles with and using to tie up loose ends from the sas.......... Also my truck will lose all usefullness as a work truck(which would suck moving back and forth from school, and doing little side jobs and what not)

2. Bob it around 13 inches. Advantages= I would get to keep the tailgate, and keep some sort of a box on the truck to do some things with(move, work, etc.). If i did the bob i would have to do some body work, which means the rest of the gashes and scars down both sides of the bed may get some attention and make the taco look a little better for the ladies :). Its cheap, wouldnt cost much at all. Also, it would help me keep it out of the rocks somewhat.....
Disadvantages= Makes the bed so short ALL i would be able to fit in there are the 37 inch spare, hi-lift and toolbox......i had planned on getting a trailer for those long wheeling trips anyhow. Theres still some sheetmetal there to get damaged, although less likely, its still something to worry about and try to keep halfway decent.......

3.Leave it the F-A-W-K alone. Keep the huge dents and scars in it and go for more! Besides, chicks love body damage right?

Bob it, a friend has his bobbed/tubed in the rear, although his cage isn't done, it looks great and still has some usefullness.

I think tube beds look killer, nothing ugly there. I say tube and beat it hard. I would be pretty cheezed if I did all the work to bob that sucker and it just got bashed up in the rocks.

I say leave it the hell alone, concentrate your time and money on performance, gears, driveshafts, lockers, etc. After you get done with that, and have the money, then I would remove it and tube the hell out of it.

Yea man, I wouldn't mess with it either until after you have another DD, I use my bed soooo much I don't know what I'd do without it. But later on down the road I would tube it, but like i said fer now leave it alone and tie up those lose ends, trust me you will miss your bed if you mess with it.

Leave it till you hang it up on something or bash it in, then you have REASON to bob or flatten it

If it ain't Broke....................

its already beaten pretty bad. Both taillights are cracked, the driver side has a deep gash/dent from front to back, and both sides have the very back corners smashed and beaten. If i bobbed i would probabl fix those, or at least try too.

Given that.....If I were you, I'd probibly for-go spending any money and bob the tail or dovetail it (or both) but I wouldn't do anything thats gonna hinder you from carrying a load in the bed.
