Do you run a coop with shavings or anything like a pen? Our has roosting poles and shavings. It still becomes a necessity. Can't say it's really gross or enjoyable but it and the shavings go into the compost.
Be sure it matures a good bit. It will be too strong for most plants.
1 coop has shavings we typically throw in a yard cart/wagon when changed out so that may be an option
 
48 Everbearing strawberry plants in the new planter. Plants came from my parents that they were able to split/divide. Supposedly you can split them each year and double the amount of plants.

You can clip the runners list to create new plants. Planters like that can dry out quick if you don't keep then watered.
